Hello everyone!
I hope you all are enjoying your summer so far! It's been getting really hot and humid as well as stormy in my hometown, but oddly enough today has been a very pleasant day. Sadly I was inside at work for the majority of the day so I haven't been able to enjoy it as much. I'm a very busy person, but I try as much as possible to enjoy myself with every chance I get.
I suppose I can also update you all with a brief summary of my experience at Anime Mid-Atlantic, which took place last weekend:
Friday AMA: Started off with a picnic and photography with such wonderful and beautiful people. Went to cosplay fashion show dress rehearsal as Poison Ivy (50's style) and spent the afternoon with friends and exploring the artist alley. The fashion show later that evening was such a treat, and everyone did a beautiful job strutting their stuff on stage. I'm even more proud that my siren friends brought their courage to the stage as well - their CONFIDENCE surely shone through. Ended the night with some music, dance, friends and photography.
Saturday: Debuted my Noel (BlazBlue) cosplay and had an opportunity to have a mini shoot with Ragna! (There was a Rachel too but we ended up not finding her ;-
Changed to Chieri and got together with our lovelies from AKB0048 for another mini photoshoot - we even got ice cream! Changed once more to Rikku for another shoot and spent the rest of the evening for quality time with friends and exploring photography and lighting before the storm came in.
Sunday AMA: Debut Lenne for a breezy cosplay on the last day. After getting a new wig and briefly meeting with a new cosplay friend, my friends and I explored more photography before saying "see you later" to one another. Closing ceremonies were wonderful, especially seeing the lovely Reni Chanand Yunmao on stage.
I have not gotten around to checking around for more photos during the weekend but rest assured I will post them as soon as I get around to them and/or if I find the chance to find some pictures of me yet to be tagged And of course, I will credit their respective photographers!
Even though it has been a week since Anime Mid-Atlantic, I am already planning and designing my costumes for my next major convention: Nekocon in November! Please be sure to check out my tumblr and Instagram (reikoheartsu) and follow along in my works in progress!

In the last month and a half, I had been working together with my friend Proxxi (www.facebook.com/pr0xxi) on our pony cosplays. She had never been a pony before and we decided to be Rainbow Dash and Lightning Dust, who appear together in Season 3 at the Wonderbolt Academy. Proxxi loves RD and I really liked LD and we wanted to do something that was different from their popular sporty looks. After discussing and looking into style ideas, we agreed on doing steampunk! It was a lot of fun making these costumes and we hope that you will enjoy them! We were really excited to debut them on Saturday of Anime Mid-Atlantic and we received a lot of compliments and pictures!
A couple of weeks following the convention, I had an unfortunate turn of events that led me to be in the financial state that I'm not very happy with: I have been involved in a sales scam and it not only caused me a lot of stress running around to set things straight, but it stressed me enough to get very sick. However, I'm very thankful to those who have stood by my side and did what they could to get me back on my feet. I'm feeling a lot better now and ready to work on bigger and better things.
Speaking of bigger and better things, I am working on getting back to doing Youtube tutorials for cosplay, makeup, discussions and the like so if there is anything that you guys would like me to talk about, be sure to message me and I'll see what I can do! Making videos is a new venture and I enjoy doing it because I know that I can connect with you guys on a different level and hopefully inspire you
I'm working on my new costumes for debut at Nekocon in November. I can't believe it's only 4 months away and I'm a busy bee working on them! I can't wait to show you guys my completed work!
In the meantime, I hope you guys will continue to support me and enjoy what I do as an artist and crafter. It makes me smile knowing that I can make someone out there smile with my work

VACOMICON Video and Updates! :)
Here's what I've been up to!
This past weekend, I went with a small group of cosplay friends to Richmond, VA for it's second VA Comicon of the year! For this event, I dressed up as Pinkie Pie from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and I had a wonderful time meeting with my cosplay friends and even made a few new ones! White Tiger Filmz was there that day and filmed many of the cosplayers including myself and my friends! Check out the music video on the link here. By the way, can you find me? For the next month, I'm kind of dead on events since I am trying to rebuild my budget as well as catching up and finishing up my cosplays. I started quite a few cosplay projects in the last few months and each one of them are closer to being finished. Many cosplayers can understand when experiencing a roadblock while working on one project and then you start another until you are ready to come back to the original project. Whelp. That's exactly what happened and... It's time to play catch up!
My next event will more than likely be Anime Mid-Atlantic in Chesapeake, VA and VA ComiCon 3 in June! I hope to see you guys there if you will be at those conventions!
Oh, and about the Arda Wigs contest: Thank you to all who placed votes on my entry with my boyfriend and I as Princess Cadence and Shining Armor from My Little Pony. We didn't win, but we had a lot of fun participating and seeing all of the beautiful cosplays! Everyone did an amazing job! We hope to enter more contests in the future - it really was a new experience and it was all in good fun!
